At Andros Medspa, we get a lot of questions about the details of facials; how long in between each facial, skin sensitivity, wearing make-up afterward, and more. In fact, I have often wondered about the aftermath of getting a facial as well. In this post, I will attempt to educate all of us as I unravel the mystery of what to do once you leave the spa.
First, expect to be slightly sensitive for the first couple days. Your skin has been poked and prodded and is going to be slightly uncomfortable. This is totally normal. Because of this, it is not wise to be exposed to the sun, wear makeup or wash your face for the first 24 hours. Doing any of these things can make your face irritated and decrease the effects of the facial.
Second, drink lots of water. Your body is in the process of ridding itself of the toxins that the facial tried to extract, in order to help your body out, drink water! This can help a lot with people who break out after facials. By not touching the infected area and drinking lots of water, you can clear up the blemishes faster.
Finally, when scheduling another facial wait about 30 days to come back. This is important for many reasons. For one, facials can be expensive and you don’t want to waste your money if you don’t need a facial that badly. Also, during facials, it is common to remove the top layer of the skin in order to get rid of wrinkles and fine hairs. It will take a few weeks for your skin to grow back the top layer again and you do not want to get another facial when your skin is not ready.
Remembering all of these tips for after a facial can help you get the most of the experience and hopefully, clear up some questions!
Come to Andros Medspa and we can help you get the best facial for your skin!
